John Logie Baird lived here
Logie Baird developed the world's 1st colour television here
After inventing television in 1926 John Logie Baird also patented a system which later became known as Radar, and helped the BBC begin the first public television service in 1932.
In 1933 he set up his company at the Crystal Palace nearby. Baird moved to this house where he could work on new projects including large-screens for cinemas, colour and stereoscopic TV.
Here in his laboratory he had set up he developed of the worlds first colour television system in December 1940.
