St. Pancras New Church
Built in 1819, the most expensive church after St Pauls.
At a cost of 76,679 7s 8d- built in 1819, St Pancras New Church on the Euston Road was the most expensive after St Pauls Cathedral. It was made in the style of the classic Greek temple, with two projecting wings and statues of hand maidens supporting them. Charles Rossi spent three years making them out of Coade's artificial stone.
The parts that hold up the pillars were ordered in the wrong size, and to make them fit they had to adjust them to be really chunky.
