Ranelagh Pleasure Gardens
It was here that Mozart played at a benefit concert aged just 9.
Here in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea are the Ranelagh Gardens, two hundreds years ago this was THE place to have afternoon tea.
For a fee anyone could stroll around the gardens, listen to live music, enjoy the spectacular rotunda, ornamental lake and Chinese Pavilion.
Here on June 29th 1765 the 9 year old Wolfgang Mozart performed his own compositions on the harpsichord and organ for a benefit concert in aid of a newly established maternity hospital.
Now the site of the annual Chelsea Flower Show.
